Addiction is a brain disease with
psychological, social, behavioral,
biomedical and spiritual components.
It impacts everyone who cares about
or loves an individual with
the disease of addiction.

The extent of the impact varies by family
and situation. At a minimum, those with a
relationship with the addicted individual
will have feelings of despair,
anger, and hopelessness.

They will feel as if
“There is nothing I can do.”
In reality, intervention is the most
loving act anyone can provide for an
addicted individual.

If you don't act, the disease can
easily take the individual into
insanity and eventually death.
